In spite of nearly being blown away by the awful weather, the children have had a really positive start to the half term. They have a great enthusiasm for learning which is great to see.
We have been learning how to exchange between ones, tens and hundreds during maths. We have started using the column method to help us add and subtract. In English, we have begun reading our new book Until I Met Dudley. We are learning the grammar and features of the text. In history, we learnt all about life in the Stone Age and looked at how life changed from the Paleolithic (Old Stone Age) compared to the Neolithic (Old Stone Age). In science, the children used what they knew about how to investigate to run their own investigation into which type of material is the best for cleaning up spilt water. In Life Skills, we have started to use our new We Eat Elephants mental health tool to learn more about bullying and how we can stop it happening. Also this week, we have been learning about how Christians take care of the world. We also talked about how we can take care of the world around us. In Art, we have combined skills to practise sketching and shading 3D shapes. In French we learnt to express preferences.
Have a great weekend,
Year 3 team
