Hey everyone! It’s been another exciting week in Year 3, filled with new discoveries and fun learning activities. Here’s a quick rundown of what we’ve been up to:

This week in English, we started exploring our new book, "Nen and the Lonely Fisherman." The story has captivated our imaginations with its beautiful illustrations and heartfelt narrative. We’ve been diving deep into the characters and themes.

In Maths, we focused on exploring time through reasoning questions. We practiced reading clocks, calculating durations, and solving problems that required us to think critically about time. It’s been a great way to sharpen our time-telling skills and apply them in different scenarios.

In Science, we looked at food webs and learned about what happens if an organism is removed from the ecosystem. It was fascinating to see how interconnected all living things are and how the removal of one species can impact the entire web. We created our own food webs and discussed the delicate balance of nature.

In Geography, we learned all about relief rainfall and why the UK experiences such wild weather. We explored how mountains and other landforms affect rainfall patterns and got a better understanding of the factors that contribute to the UK's diverse weather. It was eye-opening to see how geography plays a role in our daily weather.

Hey everyone! We’ve had another exciting and action-packed week in Year 3. From diving into new stories to celebrating sports day, here's a snapshot of our adventures:

We kicked off the week with a brilliant sports day! Everyone showed incredible kindness and support to each other, cheering on their classmates and celebrating everyone’s efforts. Whether running, jumping, or participating in team games, it was a day full of fun, sportsmanship, and fantastic memories.

In English, we started exploring our new book, "Nen and the Lonely Fisherman." The story has captivated us with its beautiful illustrations and heartfelt themes. We’ve been discussing the characters and predicting what might happen next, and everyone’s excited to see where the story goes.

In Maths, we focused on understanding the difference between minutes and seconds. We practised measuring short periods of time and got a better sense of how these units of time work. It’s been fun using stopwatches and timing different activities.

Our wider curriculum explorations took us into the fascinating world of food chains in Science. We learned about producers and consumers. It’s amazing to see how every living thing is connected.

In Computing, we delved deeper into Scratch, the coding platform. We created our own projects and learned new coding skills, making our characters move and interact in fun ways. It was awesome seeing everyone’s creativity shine through their coding.
