Hi Everyone
It has been an absolute pleasure to teach your child this year. They have been thoughtful, curious, imaginative, eloquent, kind, caring and extremely hard-working! We have all enjoyed our year with them. I know they are more than ready for Year 4 and Ms Radbourne is very much looking forward to teaching them. This week, we have finished our Arctic Rough Guide page. We have completed our unit on weight and capacity as well as learning about how we measure temperature - very appropriately! We watched a climate change video for geography on the hottest day of the year and they have been working with a buddy to make their own code in Scratch. They have also learnt how to keep safe in the home and on water. They are very much looking forward to their nugget treat this afternoon which has been very well earned. Sadly, we are saying goodbye to Elodie. She will be very much missed and we wish her all the best in her new school. I would like to take this opportunity again to thank you for all your support and your children for such a great year. Please keep a bit of reading and times tables up (even just counting in 2s, 5s, 10s, 3s, 4s and 8s) as it will really help them next year. I hope you have a great summer. Miss Keen and the Year 3 Team Hi Everyone
It was really lovely to see so many people in the flesh at Sports Day. Thank you so much for coming. I have shared some photos on Dojo already but I will share some more next week. Hope Week has been a very busy week. On Monday, the children played French games in the hall with Madame Jordan. On Tuesday, we had science day where we looked at ecosystems and the children drew their own. We followed this on Wednesday with some art inspired by Jackson Pollack (very messy), a quick look at the BBC Symphony playing and a live lesson about volcanoes with some scenes from an actual volcano. We also got to meet a volcanologist. Today, we had a great Sports Day. I was really impressed with the children's spirit when they were taking part. Don't forget that tomorrow is the Music Concert. The children have been practising hard. Next week, the Rosemoor Trip is on Wednesday. We are looking forward to our workshop there and a look around the gardens. We are also having the transition morning on Thursday before swimming. Hope you have a good Friday and a good weekend. Thanks for all your support, as ever. Miss Keen |
