I hope you all had a great (and safe) half term. It is good to be back after the dramatic end to the last half term!
We have started a new unit in English looking at a book called 'Ask Dr K Fisher About Planet Earth'. We will be writing letters in this unit and making a labelled diagram. This will link with the geography unit we are doing next week on volcanoes, mountains and earthquakes. For history, the children have written an essay describing what they know about life in the Shang Dynasty. They have really impressed me with their stamina for writing and their knowledge. We have continued our learning in PSHE about children's rights. We are changing the name of PSHE to Life Skills as the children find it quite hard to understand what PSHE means. In science, we have started our learning about forces and finished by investigating different forces.
We will be decorating our T-shirts this afternoon for World Book Day and the children can dress up on Friday.
Next week, we will be learning more about letter writing, statistics and mountains.
Hope you have a great rest of the week and weekend.
