We have had a very exciting visit this week from the Dog's Trust. We enjoyed a workshop and learnt all about how to behave around dogs.
In maths, we have started to learn how to multiply and divide a two-digit number by a one-digit number using place value counters. We will learn about correspondence and scaling problems next week. We have started thinking about our own quest stories and planning them in English. We have been really focusing on carefully thinking about each sentence. We will write our stories next week. We have continued to learn all about sound in science by exploring pitch and frequency using musical instruments. We also learnt that children can hear higher pitched sounds than adults. We have learnt what the Shang believe in and what the tomb of Fu Hao can tell us about life in the Shang Dynasty. This week in RE, we learnt about the 10 commandments. We put them in order from most to least important and were able to justify our decisions. In Music, we have been listening to soundscapes and thinking about how we might create a soundscape for a short animation. We have been recapping instrument families and thinking about how different instruments make different sounds.
Have a great weekend,
Year 3 Team
"My favourite thing this week was when the dogs trust came in to visit. We learnt about what you need for a dog. We also learnt if they don't know you then they might be scared of you."
"My favourite thing this week was Maths. I learnt about exchanging using column method. I liked that I could do it independently and that made me really happy."
