We have many highlights this week but the children particularly enjoyed the visit from the library service. They were able to choose some books that we can now keep in class for us to read. It is exciting having so many beautiful books!
We have nearly finished our unit on addition and subtraction. The children have now been looking at how to apply what they know about adding and taking away to word problems. Ms Boyce will continue practising the column method so they can use it fluently. We are looking at villages, towns and cities in geography. If you are out and about and visit somewhere, please talk to the children about whether it is a town, village or city. In science, the children have looked at different types of paper and learnt how paper is made. In Life Skills, we looked at different scenarios about online safety and discussed in groups what we should do. We have continued with gym in PE and learning all about how to balance in different ways. In French, we have been learning how to use a dictionary and expressing likes and dislikes about food. In Music we have been practising our carol singing with Mr Arnold. In RE, we have started to learn about Noah's Ark. We have also talked about being forgiving and asking for forgiveness.
Have a great weekend!
Year 3 team.

"My favourite thing this week was English. I like writing about how things work, like a vacuum."
