It has been a very interesting week. We have conducted investigations into air resistance using a piece of paper and a book. We are learning about forces in science and will write about what we have learnt in English. As well as looking at air resistance, we also began to explore how we could use Newton meters to measure forces. The children have been adding measures in maths. We measured our jumping and then added the jumps together. We have also looked at converting the measures in cm, mm and m. In geography, we have learnt about different geographical features. On Wednesday, we enjoyed World Book Day. It was great to see the children dressed up and hear about what they have been reading. The children then completed an online workshop with different authors. This week in Art, we have been thinking about proportion when sketching animals. We have been learning about prehistoric cave paintings and the different materials used to create colours. In Maths, we have been learning how to subtract using a column. We have been trying to solve missing number problems such as 71 - ___ = 20. In French, we have been learning about mealtimes and times of the day.
Have a great weekend! Year 3 Team
