We have had another busy week in the rain. They have all worked really hard and we've been very impressed with their progress.
We have started recording the column method this week using three-digit numbers. The children have been supported with lots of equipment like Base 10 and Place Value Counters to help them understand why we record column method the way we do. We are so impressed at how carefully the children have recorded their column method. We have started to plan the first part of our writing for our new text. Next week, we will start thinking about which household appliance or machine we would like to write about. In science, the children have started to learn about synthetic materials and we played a guessing game with different materials. We have started our learning about bullying both online and in real life in Life Skills. In RE, we learnt about forgiveness and being sorry. We linked this to the story of Adam and Eve. In Music, Mr Arnold taught us some new carols and we sang along while he played the piano.
What a busy week! We hope you have a lovely weekend. Year 3 Team
"My favourite thing this week was French. We learnt about what happens in France for remembrance day. They don't wear poppies like us, they wear blue cornflowers and when they place down flowers they are blue, white and red. They also call it Armistice Day "
"My favourite thing this week was on Friday afternoon, we practised singing different Christmas songs along with the piano."
