The children have had a great start to Year 3. We have been really proud to see how they have matured this half term. They have shown perseverance and resilience in their learning. They should be very proud of themselves and we hope you all have a good half term.
We have started learning how to add and subtract ones and tens to three-digit numbers. We are linking it to what we know already about adding and subtracting ones. In English, we have looked at changing our writing to write in the first person (using I and not he/she). The children have been using their computing skills to explore how they could publish their writing. In science, the children wrote a conclusion to say what they found out about cars travelling over different surfaces. In Life Skills, we looked at safety around fires and firework nights in anticipation of Halloween and November 5th. This week, we have been practising shading in Art. We practised shading shapes to show where the light was falling. In RE, we learnt more about the story of Adam and Eve and performed mini-role plays retelling the fall of mankind. In Music, we composed a short piece of music together using the glocks. We used five notes and collaboratively created a short tune which had a clear repeating pattern.
It has been a great half term. Thank you very much for your support. Year 3 Team
"My favourite thing this week was PE because it's my favourite subject and I like running around. We did different types of footwork like side stepping and skipping."
"My favourite thing this week was Art. We did shading and I want to be good at art, just like my mum!"
