Hi Everyone
It is the last Friday before half term. It looks as if it might actually be sunny and a bit warmer! The children have finished writing their stories about our abandoned planet. They have been amazing at remembering how to use commas and apostrophes. We also had some fantastic adjectives to describe all the rubbish piled up on the planet. In maths, we are continuing with time after half term. Telling the time to the nearest minute is quite tricky especially the to times e.g. twenty-two minutes to four, so we will keep practising. There is a link to a game below which the children can use to practise. https://mathsframe.co.uk/en/resources/resource/117/telling-the-time-in-words We will all have finished sewing by the end of today and planted our pea plants out in a large tub for them to grow on. The children have made some amazing observations about what conditions plants need to grow based on our experiments. We have also looked at how water is transported in plants and saw how coloured water turned the petals a different colour. In reading, we have been looking at how to answer comprehension questions and retrieve information from what we have read. There is no homework this week as it is half term next week. Please keep reading during the holidays. Next half term, we are looking forward to learning all about modern and ancient Greece. We are starting a new book called Oliver and the Seawigs. We hope you have a fantastic half term and look forward to seeing all the children on their return. Thanks to the children for all their hard work and to you for your support. Miss Keen and Ms Ruby .
