Here is our Year 3 blog!
This week in Maths, we explored three-digit numbers, estimating and refining our skills with formal column methods. Our place value knowledge came in very handy when estimating. We dove deeper into the skill with word problems. In English, we continued our fascinating journey through the world of tea. We crafted short information texts, explaining the secrets of different tea types, their origins, and the importance of fair trade. Wander down the hallway, and you'll find our tea texts proudly on display. In Music, our singing voices were put to the test as we practiced a special Take That song. We also practised some carols in preparations for our carol concert in a few week’s time. In Design and Technology, we transformed felt into festive treasures by sewing Christmas baubles. Excitement bubbled as we prepared to showcase and sell our creations at the Christmas fair this afternoon after school. The choice of designs and quality of sewing have been really impressive. In PE, we explored the art of gymnastics. Jumping and climbing took centre stage as we unleashed our energy and creativity. The ropes and vault emerged as our favourite pieces of equipment, adding an extra layer of challenge to our lesson. This week was a kaleidoscope of learning! Each day brought new discoveries, and the journey continues. Until next time, keep exploring and embracing the wonders around you. Almost every child has kept up with their reading this week – we are close to getting a treat – so please keep it up! The expectation is 5 reads a week. Warm regards, Year 3 team!
