Happy half term! It is crazy to think that this half term marks being half way through this academic year already! It certainly has flown by.
This week in English, we have continued to look at our text ' The Sleeper and the Spindle'. We have been learning lots of new adjectives to describe the characters. Ask your child what hirsute means, I had to look that one up. We have also had a focus on practicing punctuating direct speech correctly, remembering the different rules with the punctuation. In maths we have began our unit on multiplying fractions and finding the fraction of an amount. The children have been working really well with this unit and are getting to the dive deeper questions in many lessons, which is excellent. We will continue with this after half term before moving onto decimals and percentages. In science the children worked hard to make electromagnets! Mrs Ware was very impressed! In history we have finished our unit on Medieval Monarchs by looking at Elizabeth I. We certainly have flown through many years in only 5 lessons. PE this week has focused on badminton practicing our skills and also playing in game scenarios which the children have really enjoyed. This afternoon, we have had our first nugget treat. The children ha worked well as a class to get all the nuggets for the jar. They chose to watch Sing 2 and enjoyed some sweet treats too. Look out for parents evening booking sheets after half term. Please can I remind children that will be having a spelling test on the first Monday back and the multiplication/division homework will also be due. Lots of exciting things to look forward to after half term including bike ability! Have a lovely half term break and look forward to seeing you all on Monday 19th. Comments are closed.
