Happy Friday!
I can't believe we have completed the first term! What a busy and exciting term we have had! This week has been a very busy week filled with festive fun, we have had a first aid lesson with a medic, our final mini police session, EYFS Christmas performance, carol concert and a Christmas party! We have been also very busy finishing off our topics. The children have written excellent stories based on the 'Firebird'. The children had lots of amazing ideas and produced some superb writing. We also finished our geography unit on informal settlements looking at crime can be tackled. After the Christmas break we will be continuing and finishing our fractions unit. We have had a fabulous day playing lots of board games, party games and watching home alone! Thank you for all your support this term. I hope you all have a lovely Christmas break! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. See you on 3rd January. Happy Friday! I cannot believe it is December already! Just a short blog this week…
It has been lovely to be back after a week off. I believe the children worked very well with Mr Legg whilst I was away, and he was very impressed with them all! On Monday the children were lucky enough to take part in a OCRA athletics event in the hall competing in all sorts of different races and events. Yesterday we completed our end of term math assessments, the children worked super hard on these especially as we had two in one day! We also had our last swimming lesson, once again Mrs Moffat and I are so impressed with the progress every child has made over the last term and how hard everyone has tried. Well done Year 5 you should all be so proud of yourselves for your progress in swimming. Today we have continued our geography unit looking at different informal settlements around the world and particularly focused on the biggest challenges each settlements faces. We have also had a lovely Christmassy afternoon making lots of Christmas decorations for our class! I hope everyone has a lovely weekend! We have lots of festive and exciting things coming up in the last two weeks! |
