Happy Friday!
We have had a great week this week with lots of exciting things happening. We started the week with Dingle Dangle Scarecrow Day, we had lots of farmers and scarecrows. We were also lucky enough to have a workshop with the Devon Wildlife Trust all about mammals and we have been swimming! In English we have started our new unit based on the story of 'The Children of the Benin Kingdom'. The children have been busy making predictions of what is going to happen in the story and writing letters from different characters. In maths this week we have been finishing our unit on place value with our end of unit assessment today and next week we will be starting a new unit on addition and subtraction. The children have been busy in their science lesson this week conducting lots of experiments on separating solids - see picture below. The children were also excellent again at swimming this week and Mrs Moffat and I were very proud of our class again! In their PE lesson the children have continued developing their skills at hockey and have been playing mini tournaments this morning. Next week we will continue looking at our new text in english, start our new unit in maths and finish our topic in history. Just a reminder that children should be reading for at least 10 minutes a night and this should be recorded in their reading record which should be in school every day. Children should also be practicing their spelling and on TTRS daily too. Hope you have a lovely weekend! Comments are closed.
