Good afternoon everybody - Happy Friday!
This is our week in short... This week in Hazel, we have been working hard on our new English text, Incredible Edibles, which is based on instructional writing and recipes. We thought about verbal instructions and the need for images and clarity in our instructions to make them clear. We drew a picture and then had to give our partner verbal instructions on how to draw it - see photos. In Maths, we have come to the conclusion of our unit on converting measurements and the class did well in their assessment today. In RSE, we continued to learn about puberty and how it affects our body. This week we focused on personal hygiene. For Science, we have made links to our RSE and looked at the Human life cycle, from prenatal to old age. We also enjoyed a multi-skills session today with Mr Stronge. New spellings have been sent out for this half term, we will do the third column's test on Monday. I have put a digital copy on Class Dojo. There is also a digital copy of this half term's Wider Curriculum Home Learning on Dojo, I sent a paper copy home this week as well. Can I remind everybody that the expectation is that children read for at least 10 minutes at home everyday, this can be magazines, newspapers, manuals, cookery books, as well as their reading books, as it is all reading. Next week, the children will be working on Position and Direction in Maths, completing their RSE, working on Incredible Edibles in English, Lifecycles in Science, Humanism in RE and making their Pasta sauce in DT on Wednesday, each child will have an ingredient to bring in, I will message it to you on Dojo and give you a reminder slip on Monday. I hope that you all have a great weekend, the weather looks a bit iffy, but do try to get out and about, except for when the football is on, I expect you all to be roaring England on! See you on Monday Mr F Comments are closed.
