Happy Friday!
A huge thank you to all those parents who attended our Parents Sharing Assembly today. It was great to share our learning from this term with you in person. This week in Hazel Class, we have worked hard in Maths, completing our unit on Multiplication and Division and our extended writing piece in English. We continued our Science topic of Electrical Circuits, thinking about which materials are good electrical conductors and insulators. On Tuesday, we started a challenge, in preparation for our Eden Project visit on Thursday. We had to design a third biome and persuade the directors of the Eden Project, that our choice of biome was right for their next venture. There were some super designs. Yesterday, we visited the Eden Project and learnt all about our climate culture and how we could reduce our carbon footprint. The children had a great time but did find the Rainforest biome a little warm! We finished the week with some P.E. in the classroom as the weather has been awful today - Joe Wicks did assist in parts! In terms of home learning, can I remind everybody that the expectation is that children read for at least 10 minutes at home everyday, this can be magazines, newspapers, manuals, cookery books, as well as their reading books, as it is all reading. I would also like children to spend time working on their times tables, which are vital in so many areas of the Maths curriculum. After Easter, the children will start on some new topics, including evolution, The Middle East and careers in Life Skills. Have a great Easter break, get out and have fun together, hopefully it will stop raining soon! See you in two weeks. Mr F Comments are closed.
