Good afternoon everybody - Happy Friday!
We've reached the end of another week - here is a little flavour of what we have been up to this week. This week in Hazel, we have been working hard on our assessments, ready to set targets for next year. I have been really impressed by the way in which the children have applied themselves to these in a difficult year and the outcomes have been really promising. In RSE, we continued to learn about puberty and how it affects our body. We have been producing our own guide to puberty. For History, the children have been researaching and finding out about various aspects of Ancient Mayan life and culture and have produced some fantastic information pages (see photos) We also have had a Mayan Challenge Day, where the children upcycled old clothes and junk into Mayan costume and masks. We also enjoyed a multi-skills session with Mr Stronge. New spellings have been sent out for this half term, we will do the second column's test on Monday. I have put a digital copy on Class Dojo. There is also a digital copy of this half term's Wider Curriculum Home Learning on Dojo, I sent a paper copy home this week as well. Can I remind everybody that the expectation is that children read for at least 10 minutes at home everyday, this can be magazines, newspapers, manuals, cookery books, as well as their reading books, as it is all reading. Next week, the children will be working on decimal numbers in Maths, completing their RSE, working on a new text in English - to be revealed next week, working on Lifecycles in Science, Humanism in RE and completing their Mayan work. I hope that you all have a great weekend, the weather looks a bit iffy, but do try to get out and about. See you on Monday Mr F Comments are closed.
