Happy Friday!
A huge thank you to all those parents that I saw this week at Parents Evenings on Wednesday and Thursday. It was great to talk to you about your children, the progress that they have made this year and their next steps. This week in Hazel Class, we have worked hard on assessments in Maths, reading and our extended writing piece in English. We continued our Science topic of Electrical Circuits, thinking about what components in a circuit look like as symbols in a circuit diagram is and what is included in one. On Monday, we had a great time on the field in the afternoon, leading our teams around in our Fun Fitness afternoon. It was superb - thank you Mrs Ahmad and the Year 6s for leading this. Yesterday, we had our final session in the pool. It was great to see the progress that the children had made with their swimming over this term - I am very proud of all of you Hazel Class, great job! We finished the week with some Tag Rugby and got a little wet at the end of the session! We also explored different filming techniques in Computing. In terms of home learning, can I remind everybody that the expectation is that children read for at least 10 minutes at home everyday, this can be magazines, newspapers, manuals, cookery books, as well as their reading books, as it is all reading. I would also like children to spend time working on their times tables, which are vital in so many areas of the Maths curriculum. A new set of Wider Curriculum challenges is available on this page and on Dojo, I would love to see a piece from each child by next Thursday, I have had some good pieces so far, including an electric video (excuse the pun) and some super French flashcards. Next week, the children will be working on an exciting task in Geography, in preparation for our trip to the Eden Project. We will continue our work on Electrical circuits in Science and will finish our work on Multiplication and Division in Maths. Don't forget, next week is our trip to the Eden Project in St Austell, Cornwall. Therefore, on Thursday, the children will need to be in school by 8.30 so that we are prepared and ready to go. The children are very excited about it and I am really looking forward to it - look out for photos next week. Have a great weekend, get out and have fun together. See you on Monday Mr F Comments are closed.
