Friday again - but what a horrid week of weather we have had - errrr!
Fortunately, we did have a minor break in the weather yesterday and Miss Radbourne and I managed the first Running Club session, which really sped by! This week in Hazel Class, we have completed our narrative based on the Creation story: How the Whale Became and started to look at our new text - Wallace and Gromit: Cracking Contraptions. So far we have explored some contraptions and have undertaken our elicitation task. In Maths we are studying the properties of shape, so far, we have looked at angles, triangles and quadrilaterals. In Geography, we are now nearing the end of our work on the Amazon Basin and the children are producing a display based on the area. In R.E. we looked at generosity, in Music we really enjoyed some Samba drumming and in PE we have been practising our tennis skills - indoors today sadly. Next week, the children will continue to study Wallace and Gromit and their Cracking Contraptions for English, shape in Maths; Christian values in R.E.; our new history topic for Wider Curriculum; Forces in Science; Design for a Purpose in Art, more Samba in Music and a Cricket and Tennis combination in PE - for which we will hopefully be outside- bring on the sunshine! Our Wider Curriculum Home Learning is due in on Thursday next week, that's 3 pieces from the sheet, I have had a few good quality pieces in so far and await the rest. Remember to keep reading - at least 10 minutes every day- this doesn't have to be your school reading book but could be a magazine article, research from the internet or an ebook - I always read from a Kindle. Spellings for next week are: blacken, brighten, flatten, lengthen, mistaken, straighten, shorten, thicken, tighten and toughen the test will be on Friday. Hopefully, you will all be able to get out and about a bit this weekend inbetween the downpours and the wind. Have a great weekend whatever you are up to. See you on Monday. Mr F Comments are closed.
