Week Beginning 18.1.21

Chestnut class has been working hard this week on our Literacy learning to write the beginning and end of stories.  Next week will complete this work with a Big Write, writing our own story in the style of 'Boa's Bad Birthday'. 
We continue to work on our maths, developing our addition and subtraction within 20. We have also been working on counting in 10's through song and games.
In the wider curriculum we have focused on Art and Design and developing seascapes through line, texture and collage as well as developing our knowledge of colour mixing with paints.
As ever we enjoyed our PE session with the Saints which saw the children developing their core strength and ball skills.
Children have also responded marvellously to the Science challenge I set earlier in the week by both designing and building their own floating pirate ships out of recycled material.
