Dear Parents,
The past weeks have been filled with excitement, creativity, and a whole lot of learning. 🎭 Nativity Spectacle: Stars in the Spotlight! 🌟 First and foremost, we want to express our immense pride in the outstanding performance of our Year 1 stars in the nativity play. The children shone brightly on the stage, delivering lines, singing songs, and portraying characters with such enthusiasm and confidence. It was a heart-warming spectacle that showcased not only their creativity but also their growth in self-assurance. We hope you enjoyed their splendid performance as much as we did! 📚 Literacy Adventures: Soaring into Superhero Stories! 🦸♂️ In literacy, we've embarked on an exciting new unit of work centred around the thrilling world of superheroes. The children have delved into a captivating book that takes them on daring adventures with courageous characters. ➕ Maths Mastery: Sorting and Recognizing Shapes! 🔍 Over in the realm of mathematics, our young mathematicians are on a quest to become shape experts! They've been sorting and recognizing 2D and 3D shapes with enthusiasm and curiosity. From circles and squares to cubes and pyramids, the class is buzzing with geometric excitement. Keep an eye out for the shape detectives that will soon emerge from our Year 1 class! 🏗️ Science Adventures: Building Walls Against the Wind! 🌬️ In the fascinating world of science, our little engineers have been hard at work constructing walls using different materials. These walls will face a thrilling test next week when they are exposed to strong wind conditions. 💻 Digital Artistry: Painting with Pixels! 🎨 In the realm of computing, our budding artists have explored the wonders of the Paintz app. Drawing inspiration from famous artists like Kandinsky and the technique of Pointillism, the children have created their own digital masterpieces. It's great to witness their creativity come to life on the screen. Thank you for your ongoing support, and we can't wait to continue this incredible learning journey with your amazing children! Warmest regards, Mrs Budiman, Miss Luxton and Miss Merriott Hello Chestnut Class families,
We hope this blog post finds you well. This week in Chestnut Class has been filled with exciting activities, learning, and of course, a sprinkle of outdoor exploration! Literacy Adventures: Our budding writers in Chestnut Class have embarked on a creative journey this week in Literacy with our fantastic trainee Teacher, Miss Merriott. Inspired by the charming book "I Want My Hat Back," the children have delved into the world of storytelling. Imaginations have run wild as they crafted their own tales, bringing characters to life and weaving magical narratives. Miss Merriott has been guiding them with enthusiasm, encouraging creativity and the joy of self-expression. Assessment Week: This week was Assessment Week for our little scholars. In Phonics, RWI (Read, Write, Inc.), and Maths, the children showcased their progress and understanding. We are proud each and every one of them for their determination and enthusiasm during this assessment period. Nativity Preparations: The festive spirit has well and truly landed in Chestnut Class as we continue our preparations for the upcoming Nativity play. Our classroom is alive with the sounds of little voices memorizing lines, learning new songs, and perfecting dance moves. The excitement is contagious, and we can't wait to see our Year 1 stars shine on the stage during this magical season. Nature Exploration with Sara, Our Wildlife Ambassador: This week, our wildlife ambassador, Sara, joined us for a special nature exploration session. The children were captivated as Sara introduced them to a variety of leaves, sharing fascinating facts about each one. The outdoor area transformed into a treasure hunt as the children eagerly scoured for these natural wonders, connecting with the beauty of the world around them. It's moments like these that remind us of the importance of nurturing a love for nature in our young learners. As we bid farewell to this week we would also like to welcome Ezmae-Rose and her family to our school and class! Stay tuned for more tales of discovery and learning from Chestnut Class! Warm regards, Mrs Budiman, Miss Luxton and Miss Merriott |
