Dear Parents and Carers,
The children have come back to school happy and refreshed this week. They have all impressed me with their excellent behaviour and brilliant work ethic. Our 'Star Learner' this week was Alex. Alex has been working very hard in his groups this week, working collaboratively with his peers. Literacy The children's reading continues to improve and their understanding of phonics is becoming more secure. In June they will take part in the Phonics Screening Check. I would urge you to read on a daily basis with your child as we approach this date - practise does make perfect! May I give a special mention to Francesca, Alex and Henry who have shown great motivation in their writing this week. They have aspired to do their best and have produced some lovely work. Maths In Maths we are starting our unit on multiplication and division. From next week we will be doing a multiplication test each week on a Friday. I will let you know each week which multiplications you should revise. Next week the children will be doing the 10X table so get practising! Science We have started an exciting unit of work about plants. This week we talked about seeds and bulbs and the difference between them. We also planted our own seeds and set up a comparative test to discover what a seed needs to grow. Life Skills The children have discussed feelings this week and created their own feelings friends from felt. Have a fabulous long weekend! Kind regards, Mrs Budiman and Mrs Day |
