Dear Parent/ Carers,
This week we have welcomed the children to their new class and they have risen to the challenge of a new environment and way of working. In the coming week our timetable will start 'proper' so expect to find reading books and sounds to practise in the children's bags. I'm afraid our reading folders have not arrived yet so it will be really important the children have a book bag to carry their books and papers in. As always may I remind you that your child should read to you for at least five minutes a day - this is part of homework in Year 1. In maths we will be looking at place value to 10, these are simple beginnings but will progress to more complex ideas as we move through the term. Please see the following link if you would like to do any work on this at home: Y1-HL-Autumn-Block-1-Place-value-within-10-2020.pdf (whiterosemaths.com) With the sad news of the Queen's death, we have had a sombre end to the week as we felt this was appropriate. The children have taken part in a memorial assembly rather than a praise assembly. We will be observing the national mourning in line with our Trust schools and as age appropriate. Miss Penny will write more about this in her news letter. Have a great week! Mrs Budiman Comments are closed.
