It has been a busy week in Chestnut Class this week. In English we started our new book “Room on the Broom” by Julia Donaldson. We have created a story map to help learn the first part of the text by heart. The children enjoyed a drama activity where they became the characters; adding some great actions and sound effects which they then performed to the class. In Maths we have continued to concentrate on measure. This week we have been learning about capacity. Miss Heffer led a fun practical investigation outside with water and lots of different sized containers. In Science we have been looking at materials. Children have been learning about different materials around the classroom, identifying key properties and reasons chosen for use. We also watched a video about clay and how teapots are made! Friday was Red Nose Day. The children started with cross country running and everyone completed a mile which was a great way to start the day. The children have come back to school with a positive attitude towards learning which is fantastic and it’s been lovely to see such enthusiasm.
Well done Chestnut Class! Mrs Doyle Comments are closed.
