ClicDear Parents and Carers,
I hope you all had a good opening week to this half term. The children have returned to school refreshed and ready to learn. Literacy In accordance with our recent assessments children will have been regrouped in Literacy/Phonics. They are all doing really well learning their phoneme/grapheme correspondences. We read with the children everyday through guided reading and also once a week one-to-one but please make time to read with your child everyday for at least five minutes. This is essential to them making the progress we would expect in Year 1. Please find this week's spellings attached! Sorry the photocopier is broken! Maths In Maths we are continue our work on addition and subtraction. Please feel free to tackle the workbook below! https://wrm-13b48.kxcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Y1-HL-Autumn-Block-2-Addition-and-subtraction-within-10-2020.pdf Computing The children really enjoyed computing last term so this term we are starting with computing. The children have been busy learning how to use the various tools on 'Paint'. If you would like to practise more here is the link we have been using: https://paintz.app/ Science In Science we start our new topic 'Building Things' in which we will explore how the properties of certain materials lend themselves to certain uses. PE In PE we have been learning football skills. We are learning to control the ball with our feet using our dribbling skills and also starting to pass the ball to our friends using the inside of our foot. Have a great week! Mrs Budiman and Mrs Dayk here to edit. Comments are closed.
