Dear Parents and Carers,
The children had a great first week back after the holidays and continue to impress me with their ability to transition back to school life so seamlessly. Literacy As we move closer to the Year 1 Phonics Screening Check I would once again encourage you to read with your child everyday and record this in their reading records. It is important for us to understand what children are doing at home and in school. One of the stumbling blocks many of the children are struggling with is recognising split digraphs such as a-e, o-e, u-e and e-e. Please feel free to come and speak to me if you are not sure how these work. Maths The spring term also brings new challenges! We have been practising counting in 2s, 5s and 10s. Please practise this at home as this is an essential skill in Maths. Wider Curriculum Forest School Forest school was excellent fun this week as we explored the undergrowth for insects and alike hibernating over the winter. We then went on to build a bug hotel made of leaves and wood we found scattered around after Storm Eunice. Have a great week! Mrs Budiman Comments are closed.
