In the four weeks now leading up to half-term, our wider curriculum topic in Reception is 'Autumn', with a focus on harvest, woodland animals and changes in the outdoor environment. We will be focussing on four key texts: The Little Red Hen, We're going on a Bear Hunt, Owl Babies and The Gruffalo.
This week, our learning has focussed on 'We're going on a bear hunt'. We have been on listening walks, collected natural resources for crafts and our sensory trays, and explored how different woodland animals move in a fun game. The children picked apples from the tree in our orchard, and made a yummy apple sauce. We also joined in with a special Harvest assembly with our local Reverend and have even planted our own cress seeds, ready to harvest soon. Comments are closed.
