It has been a lovely week in nursery, we have been making crafts for mothers and special grown ups. Along with recognising 2D shapes in art and the environment the children have created their own circle art works inspired by the artist Kandinsky. The children have been challenging themselves when climbing and balancing on our new equipment, the mud kitchen has been busy and the decking a cool place to be on sunny afternoon.
Reminder - Please provide sun cream for you child to use and please keep home toys safe at home. Thought for the week - To create a work of art is to create the world. Many Thanks, Nursery! A week full of exploring, adventuring, and enjoying the beautiful sunshine!
This week we have been looking at 'The Three Billy Goats Gruff' and the children have built bridges out of different construction toys, playing with musical instruments and using the new potion pots to fill up with our new indoor water tray. At the end of the week we adventured out to the big field to run around and we even explored the Trim Trail. The children played various games on the field, farmers in the den, what's the time Mr Wolf? and football. Thank you Oak children for our tasty gingerbread men.. The children on friday afternoon had a yummy gingerbread man biscuit with their afternoon milk. Happy Red Nose Day. Joke Of The Day - Why can't Elsa hold a balloon? ...Because she'll let it go! Why can't you tell an egg a joke? ...It'll crack up. What do you call a sleeping dinosaur? ... A Dino-snore! How do you get a squirrel to like you? ...Act like a nut! Reminder - Please keep toys at home as some children can get emotional when loosing a toy.. 'Your in charge of you.' Many thanks, Nursery Team. In nursery this week we have been very creative. We started the week making still life pictures of daffodils using pens and ended the week painting and creating a bean stalk to add to our wall display. we have been building castles with blocks in the sand, drawing giants and writing words that describe him. We also found time to paint bean stalks and order plants in size. On the decking the children build a bus for a pigeon to drive and transported each other around in a carriage fit for a Princess!
Thought for the week - Where flowers bloom so does hope. Happy weekend, EY team! Another busy week in nursery has flown by! At the beginning of the week we had a pancake tasting session, we have had a dress up day to celebrate world book day and we ended with forest school. We have also managed to squeeze in the start of our new topic 'Once Upon A Time' with stories of Jack and the Bean Stalk and The Three Billy Goats.
The children have been problem solving and working together while puzzle building, sharing stories, writing names, sorting and counting, mixing sand mousse and so so much more. Quote for the week - If you want your child to be intelligent read them fairy tales - Albert Einstein |
