...Scroll down for CAKE! It's been a lovely week in Acorn class. We've been finding about the Queen, where she lives, what music she might listen to, her crown, and how long she's been out Queen. Bunting has been decorated, portraits drawn and crowns made... As well as a lot of Red, White, and Blue.. we have also been writing, counting, planting beans, painting with vegetables, and spending time in our big garden.
Thought for the week: It's worth remembering that it is often the small steps, not the giant leaps that bring about the most lasting change - 'Queen Elizabeth II' We hope you enjoy your Half Term Holiday and we look forward to seeing you back Tuesday 7th June. Acorn children have been watching the growth and change of our sunflower seeds, comparing each others height and thinking about what we might turn into when we get bigger... A Horse, A Pig, A Rainbow unicorn and a firefighter were a few ideas. We have created flower pictures using 2D shapes and playing with lots of fine motor activities to make our little fingers strong for drawing and writing.
Reminder - Sun hats and sun cream please. Thought for the week - From a tiny seed comes a mighty Oak. A week filled with exploring and learning about things that grow..... We grow, seeds grow, flowers grow and imagination grows. We started with making bio pots to plant a sunflower seed and discussed and sequenced the life of a seed. At circle time we created and shared stories using story stones. Outside we have been doing lots of digging in our new dig patch and challenged ourselves on the balancing frames along with bug hunting, climbing trees and spotting Bumble bees on flowers.
Reminder - Tea towel order forms will be coming home in bags. Thought for the week - Every experience I have is perfect for my growth. Happy Friday, see you all on Monday EY team |
