This week at Nursery we have been having lots of fun with our Olympic and Sports theme. The children all enjoyed getting creative by using the correct colours to create a tissue paper collage of the Olympic Rings, Olympic Ring Biscuits and making there own Medals. We have enjoyed measuring with water containers, letting cars go down a ramp and seeing how far they travelled, and counting up to 10 whilst jumping along our long jump lines.
The children were able to slithering between chairs and underneath the Olympic Ring hola hoops, jumping down from our gymnastic box (onto a safety mat) and taking part in races with hola hoops, throwing bean bags and an egg and spoon race. The children have also watched a video of a child gymnast showing them some moves practised in a safe and controlled manner, and then they practised their movements with Go Noodle and Jumpstart Johnny exercise. Here's some pictures of all the fun... It's been very busy 'Well Done!' The children have all embraced the 'Hot and Cold' theme this week, which is great because it was very, very hot. The children have enjoyed learning about animals that live in hot and cold countries, spotting hot and cold countries on the globe, mixing colours, practising our number form 1-10 and beyond, exercising and the effects it has on our bodies and of course lots of wet play. Take a look...
This week the children have really enjoyed our Zog Theme. We have completed lots of activities including a shape hunt, creating our own shields and wands, dragon phonics, exercising on the Trim Trail and ending the week, joining Miss Prince and Oak Class, doing some Forest School activities in the Orchard.
Here are some photographs of what we have been up to... |
