Hi Everyone
It feels like a very eventful week back with the interruption of the storm. We hope the rest of the half term will run smoothly! The children have continued to look at efficient ways to add up using number bonds. They have been looking at making ten to help support them. For example, if you have 8 + 3, then you can think of it as 8 + 2 = 10 and then 10 + 1. They can then using this to help them add other numbers e.g. 78 + 3. We are also learning all the number bonds to 20 off by heart to support them with more complicated calculations later in school. In English, we have started reading the story of Goldilocks. We are going to look at two versions of Goldilocks to compare them and discuss how they are different or the same. We will have our Saints lesson as usual on Friday afternoon and we will start looking at being safe in PSHE. Next week, we should be starting our Devon Wildlife science sessions. Just a reminder that the children will need suitable outdoor clothing. Hope you have a great and less stormy weekend! Thank you Year 2 Team
