Hello Beech Class!
Miss Boyce and Mrs Stoneman are looking forward to welcoming you back into school tomorrow. Please arrive at 8.50 and we will walk into class from the front gate. Any children with younger siblings can arrive at the earlier time. Beech Class will finish school at 3.20, when we will walk down to the gate together. During our first day back, we will be settling into our classroom, establishing class rules and routines and remembering good hygiene practices. For the rest of the week, we will re-establish a good routine with Literacy, Phonics and Maths in the morning and learning through the Wider Curriculum in the afternoons. We will focus on PSHE and Art this week. We will be doing some short bursts of yoga and brain gym to break up the day, as well as having a good run around at break and lunchtime! Just a few things to remember: PE- you can wear your PE kit on Thursdays (which is our day for PE). Please wear joggers and your school jumper as well, as it may be cold. We will be keeping classrooms well ventilated, so please wear a t-shirt or vest under school shirts to keep warm. Bring a fruit snack for break this week, please. Please remember pencil cases and water bottles Reading folders will come home every day, along with spellings to practice. Your child is responsible for swapping their book. They will drop it into the 72 hour quarantine book box. Please book a lunch on the gateway app! Spellings: Please make sure that you practise spellings everyday. Spellings will be stuck into your child's homework book every Friday for the following week. We test spellings every week at the back of the homework book, so that you can monitor your child's progress. Reading: Please spend 15 minutes hearing your child read every day. Daily practise is essential when learning how to read. Please make a simple note in the reading folder, commenting on unfamiliar words, or any interesting questions and thoughts. We check reading records weekly when your child has their 1:1 reading time. Topic Homework: Once a term your child will be given a selection of project ideas to choose from which relate to our topic. They will be given plenty of time to produce a high quality piece of homework to bring into school and share. Ways to help your child with their learning
