Hello everyone,
It seem incredible that this is the last Friday blog post of this term! Mrs Murch and I would like to start be says a huge thank you to all of the year 2 families for all the support we have received this term; you have all made us feel very welcome here at North Tawton. In class this week, the children have all continued to work hard and do their best, despite it being the last full week of the term. They have been able to show just how much they have been learning in many different aspects of the curriculum. In English, the children have been publishing their non chronological information leaflets on Wolves. They have been learning about how to use subheadings, how to start a sentence in a variety of ways and they have thoroughly enjoyed learning lots of facts and information about wolves. In mathematics, the children have been able to put their recent learning on capacity to the test, with a practical session measuring and investigating different volumes. Again, they all worked very well and showed cooperation and teamwork skills to be able to measure in different ways, as a table team, to solve problems. Finally, the children have really enjoyed art this week. They had to collect various items from around the school with different textures. Then, using their colour mixing skills, they had to use different painting techniques to replicate the various textures. All the children work well with this and showed great focus and enthusiasm with their painting. Well done year 2. Please take the time to look at Class Dojo where you will see some photos of the above take during the week. Wishing you all a very restful and enjoyable weekend. Mrs Murch and Mr Legg
