Hi Everyone
This week we have continued to explore London in both English and History. The children have learnt more about the events of The Great Fire of London and we are also learning a song about it. I've been really impressed with how interested the children are in this topic. I've also promised them, we'll talk about fire safety, to alleviate any worries about fire! However, we have looked at the reasons why houses are much safer nowadays. In English, we have written postcards about a trip to London. We all enjoyed being farmers, scarecrows and animals on Monday, although there was so much straw in the classroom at the end of the day, it resembled a farmyard! In RE we have been learning about what it means to be Muslim. This week we listened to a story about a boy who threw stones at trees. The children all thought about what the story might be teaching us and how we can care for nature. We have continued to learn about light in science and we looked at reflection. We tested different materials to see which were the most reflective. Thank you so much for all the home learning you have been sending in. It is very much appreciated. Year 2 Team
