Children in Need Friday

Today the children were allowed to come to school dressed in their own clothes or in fancy dress for a donation of £1 to Children in Need.  They donated another £1 each to do a fun run  in their fancy dress.  We had fun while playing running games!! You can also see us singing to the Children in Need song on Class Dojo.  I hope you can watch tonight to see how your generous donations help children less fortunate than       ours.

On Friday, Officer Young  came to talk to us about road safety.  He reminded the children of the importance of being road safe.  Please teach your children the Green Cross Code, explain road safety rules, teach children to use crossings and obviously always set a good example when walking around with them beside roads.  Please make sure children always wear helmets when cycling or scootering or skateboarding and that they continue to apply the rules they learnt this week in Bikeability.

All the children who took part in the 3 mornings of Bikeability have achieved their level 2 certificate.  They all really enjoyed the experience and say that they feel much more confident on the roads now.  Well done Year 6.

The children have been working hard this week to improve their writing and to try and write more.  They have written some very good descriptive reports about the school field.  Ollie's was particularly good and  can be read if you click on the link below.

We have now finished our work on the four operations in maths.  We today completed an end of unit test which saw all the children make good improvements on the same task they completed at the beginning of the unit.  I have noticed that a lot of children still need to have better and quicker recall of their multiplication facts so please keep practising these at home.

Well done to Harry who is our star of the week for working really hard at school and for producing some really good home learning too.
