Dear North Tawton Families and Friends, As we hurtle towards the end of term the staff and children are busy as always! This week was assessment week, an important part of the teaching and learning cycle. Through a range of different activities, the pupils show us what they have understood and let us know where they need further consolidation or support. Staff are busy writing end of year reports so we can communicate with you how your children are progressing. This is, like last year, different to the norm due to the partial school closure and many children learning from home. The reports will reflect the curriculum we have taught in Autumn and Summer terms.
We have lots of exciting events planned for our final weeks of the year, please see our class blogs to keep up to date! Sycamore Class Friends of North Tawton Update FONTS are looking for a new Chair and Treasurer and some Class Representatives – without these roles FONTS can’t continue and a valuable source of support for the school will be lost – if you would like to know more about either of the roles, please contact FONTS (as below) or see Julie Steward. Monday 28th June 2021 – Bag2School – Thank you so much to everyone who donated and helped with the Bag2School collection - £81 was raised. Saturday 17 July 2021 - Virtual Balloon Race – Two weeks to go until the balloon race is launched! Don’t forget to buy your balloons. The money raised will be used for music and sports equipment at the school. See FONTS facebook pages for details. If you have a message, such as making arrangements for someone else to collect your child, please call our office number 01837 8284 or email [email protected] Giving a member of staff a message at the gate to pass on to other member of staff adds to our workload first thing in the morning when our priority is to settle children and teach. Pease do not use Dojo for urgent messages, teachers do not access Dojo while they teach! Again, please ring or email our school office, where Mrs Adams or Mrs Cassels will pass the message on to the relevant member of staff.
