That's the first week finished!

Well that's the first week back finished! Well done to all of the children for their super attitudes and effort having returned to school.

We have started our 'Place Value' unit in Maths and are looking at four digit numbers. In English, we have read the story 'Daphne and the Doughtnuts' and have learnt how to use inverted commas to punctuate speech in our writing. The children are really enjoying our Roman Empire topic in History and next week we will be looking at how the Roman army was so successful. Today, we also enjoyed our first PE lesson with the specialist coach!

I have sent the children home with some spellings to practise ready for a spelling test next week:

They also should have their reading folder and a reading book. It's really important they are reading regularly at home so please do record in their diaries when they have read.
