This week in Ash Class, we've had a class full of keen Scientists! We are learning about 'States of Matter' and have discovered what solids, liquids and gases are. We've used our bodies to act out how the particles behave in each state, and yesterday we had a great afternoon exploring the best temperature for melting chocolate! We made predictions before running a practical investigation timing how long a piece of chocolate took to melt in different temperatures of water. Have a look at our photos below. Meanwhile, we've reached the end of our 'Decimals' unit in Maths and have written a class version of 'Bill's New Frock' in English. Next week is the last week of term - how did that sneak up on us?
In Ash Class this week, we've enjoyed a lot of active learning! As part of our 'Climate Zones' topic in Geography, the children completed some large world map jigsaws and learnt some valuable teamwork skills. We've also managed to make the most of the dry weather and have been outside as much as possible! We took our French lesson outside, have completed plenty of 'Daily dashes' and to round off the week, today we had the opportunity to take part in a Cross Country event organised by OCRA. I'm very proud of all the children for their efforts and the support and encouragement shown to their friends was heartwarming. Everybody got a clap and cheer when they finished, right up until the last person had crossed the finish line. Well done Ash! 🏆
I would like to say a big well done to everyone in Ash for how well they have settled back into school and our usual routines. We've had a good week thinking about our wellbeing, catching up with friends and enjoying learning in the classroom again. See you next week!
World Book DayWe had a brilliant day yesterday celebrating World Book Day as a class. It was fantastic to see so many children in our class Google Meet dressed up as a book character and getting into the spirit of the day. Well done to everyone who had a go at the 'Toilet Roll Challenge' and repurposed a toilet roll into a book character. Have a look at some of these below! Well done!I want to say a huge well done to everyone in Ash Class who has persevered throughout this period of online learning. It's not been easy, but everyday the Google Classroom has been full of the hard work that the children have produced. They should all be proud of what they have achieved. Return to schoolI am really looking forward to seeing everyone again on Monday when we return to school. Please remember to wear school uniform (with extra layers if cold), bring own resources in a pencil case and bring a labelled water bottle. PE is Friday so PE kit will need to be worn to school then.
See you on Monday! |
