I feel really pleased with the children's writing this week. They have worked hard and used their knowledge of Rio de Janeiro to complete 2 pieces of work. First, an information text focussing in depth on one site in Rio. We based this on the book 'A Walk in London' so it became 'A Walk in Rio'. They have also written a diary entry in Geography imagining that they lived in the city. Some of these were really creative! They feature facts about Christ the Redeemer, Sugarloaf Mountain, Copacabana beach and much more.
In Maths, we have been learning about shapes and their properties. Next week, we will be looking at co-ordinates and how to plot on a grid. It is assessment week next week so we will have a reading assessment on Monday, 2 Maths assessments on Tuesday but then that's it. Plenty of fun to be had after that! We will even be doing some Brazilian cooking in D.T... Watch this space as I might be asking to borrow some kitchen equipment please! Have a great weekend everyone. Miss Radbourne.
