Another week has flown by.
It felt appropriate this week, on Tuesday, to take some time to think about the events of Monday and the Queen's funeral. As a class, we watched Newsround so children could see some of the key events that happened on the day. They were so respectful whilst watching the footage and asked some really thoughtful and interesting questions afterwards. A momentous occasion in History that I'm sure we'll all remember for a long time. I've been impressed with the children's effort in their learning again this week. In English, they have written some well-thought and entertaining postcards from the perspective of a kitten staying with its big cat relatives. Next week, they have the opportunity to choose their own animals for their postcards. In Maths, we've really delved into our Place Value topic and have been using lots of resources to help with partitioning four digit numbers. We've also spent time learning how to read and use number lines up to 10,000. We're full swing into our History topic and understand why and how the Romans invaded Britain over 2,000 years ago. We have also enjoyed our 2 PE sessions this week, both inside and outdoors. I have sent homework home this week. We ask that your child reads for at least 10 minutes every night, as well as regular times tables and spelling practise. The topic grid is optional so if your child would like to complete one of the activities, they can. My hope is that these activities with enable you and your child to spend some time together discussing what they've been learning in school and thinking more deeply about some topics. Have a lovely weekend. Miss Radbourne Comments are closed.
