 Happy Friday!

What a week, fantasy worlds, Multiplication  and division and freezing temperatures!

​This week, we have been working on Multiplication and Division in Maths, in English, we have been working on our new text Cinnamon by Neil Gaimon, which explores dreams and relationships, this week, the children have become familiar with the opening of the story and made predictions as to what will happen in the remainder of the text. In Science, we started our new topic of Space by looking at Solar and Lunar Eclipses and why they happen. We also enjoyed another session with Sarah Augbaya from Devon Wildlife Trust, she will be with us every Thursday until half term, so wellies and coats every Thursday please.  We will have P.E. on Thursday afternoon, so a warm P.E. kit please.   We will also have a new coach working with us on a rota, so I will let you know which weeks we will have them and this will be on a Friday. We will have a session with them next Friday, so P.E. kits on Thursday and Friday next week please.

We are hoping to start after school clubs again soon. i will be asking the children what they would like to do on Monday.  Staff have already got some great ideas, so look out for the announcement on these.

Next week, we are continuing our English text Cinnamon, continuing to explore our Book Club text The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe; carrying on with our History topic of Anglo-Saxons and working on our our new Science unit on Space.   We are also continuing to practise our Times Tables.

  In terms of home learning, can I remind everybody that the expectation is that children read for at least 10 minutes at home everyday, this can be magazines, newspapers, manuals, cookery books, as well as their reading books, as it is all reading.   I would also like children to spend time working on their times tables, which are vital in so many areas of the Maths curriculum, I have set them 25 minutes worth of TTRS time as home learning. This can be done as a block, or it can be spread across the week, so that the children do 5 minutes a day. I have been really pleased to give out lots of Dojo points to people who have been completing their time!

Spellings will be out for the test on Friday.  The Wider Curriculum home learning sheet for this half term, will be out next Monday, look out for this please.
