Dear North Tawton Families and Friends, Although only four days, it’s been another busy and exciting week at North Tawton! We have been so lucky with dry weather, but I see the weather forecast for next week is rainy (great for gardens, crops and ducks!) Please do make sure children have coats each day. Please do look at Dojo and the blogs on the website for class news. Captain Tom 100 Challenge
On Friday last week we ran several events in school to raise money for the NHS in honour of the remarkable Captain Tom. Children took part in a variety of challenges from collecting 100 things outside to doing 100 squats, being silent for 100 seconds to writing 100 positive messages. We initially raised £214, however, Amy Butler continued the great work at the weekend. She made and sold 100 cakes and raised a further £110.00 It’s not too late to donate! Please go to https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/north-tawton-primary-schools-captain-tom-100 Parents Meetings I have heard lots of positive comments regarding the parents meetings we set up this week. If you have not had a Google Meet or call with your child’s class teacher, please arrange with them for a mutually convenient time. FONTS News I was really excited to meet with the Friends Of North Tawton School group on Tuesday evening. I just wish more parents had attended. We talked about plans for the future and we are delighted to announce: Exciting plans are being made to bring the school community together before the summer holidays. Please keep Saturday 10th July as free as possible so that you can join us. More details will be confirmed soon and then we all need to keep everything crossed for dry weather!! Thank you for your continued support, FONTS Committee [email protected] or message FONTS on Dojo After School Club We are not at present hosting an after school club. I hope to be able to offer something after half term in line with Covid restrictions and staffing availability. I will keep you posted. Toys Please do not send children in to school with toys. We have a few children who bring in support items to enable transition between home and school, this is agreed with class teachers and our SENDCO and managed discreetly. Toys in school can cause all sorts of issues for staff and children and distract from teaching and learning. Thank you for your understanding. Contacting me If you have a general enquiry or need to leave a message, please email the office email address [email protected] Messages can always be passed on from the office staff to me or to teachers if need be. Please do not send me messages via Dojo! If you have a leadership question, safeguarding concern or something else specifically for me, please email me at [email protected] Many thanks! Dates for your diary Friday 28th May 2pm Sharing Assembly Online invite to be shared nearer the time Sports Day - Friday 9th July Details and contingency plan to be shared nearer the time. And of course 10th July for a community FONTS event. With best wishes Tara Penny Principal Comments are closed.
