Happy Friday! What a week, First Aid, Christmas Dinner, Christmas Parties and creating our own sequel stories! This week has been a real blast of Christmas, Christmas Dinner, Christmas Gymnastics with Mr Madden, a Carol singalong and Christmas Parties today! The children have worked really hard and deserved their treat today, they have completed work on the Rock Cycle, Rivers and have planned their own sequel to the story Farther, which we will write in the first week back. They also had an exciting first aid session, where we learned to bandage a wound and how to do chest compressions for CPR. In terms of home learning, can I remind everybody that the expectation is that children read for at least 10 minutes at home everyday, this can be magazines, newspapers, manuals, cookery books, as well as their reading books, as it is all reading. I would also like children to spend time working on their times tables, which are vital in so many areas of the Maths curriculum, I have set them 25 minutes worth of TTRS time as home learning. This can be done as a block, or it can be spread across the week, so that the children do 5 minutes a day. I have been really pleased to give out lots of Dojo points to people who have been completing their time! Don't forget FONTs are running a Santa Dash on Sunday 17th December, it will be great fun! Make sure that you all have a fantastic time over the Christmas holiday sharing time together and making new special memories. Have a great Christmas. See you on Monday 3rd January 2024!
