This first week back seems to have flown by! Well done to all the children who have jumped straight back into the online learning with enthusiasm and commitment. As always, it's been lovely to see them and speak to them in our online meetings. I look forward to seeing them back in the classroom soon!
This week, we have continued learning about fractions in Maths with a focus on how to add and subtract fractions. In English, we've been thinking about 'Amazing Aliens' and learning how to construct quality sentences using different features such as conjunctions or fronted adverbials. Some children have tried really hard with their computing this week and have been able to design and create their own websites - well done to those who persevered with this! In Art, I have seen some photos of some great 'shape houses' inspired by the work of the architect, Le Corbusier. Finally, in PSHE, we've learnt what 'diversity' means, how the UK is a diverse country and why it should be celebrated. Have a read of two acrostic poems written along this theme. Have a great weekend everybody and enjoy this beautiful Spring sunshine. See you next week, Miss Radbourne. Happy Half Term! We've made it to half term! This week, we've continued our learning about fractions in Maths. It has proved a little tricky at times but the children have persevered and overcome some misconceptions. We will be continuing with this unit after half term. I've really enjoyed reading the different versions of 'The Impossibly Possible Bookshop' in English - it's always great when the children are free to use their imagination to create characters and settings - we had some fantastically creative goblin characters!
I am hugely proud of all of the children in Ash Class for their hard work, positive attitudes and dedication from when we started this blended online learning in January right through to today. They have mastered how to use Google Classroom and become online experts! I've been so impressed by the quality of work produced and the effort put in and it's been genuinely lovely to see everyone's smiling faces in our daily Google Meets. A huge thank you also to all parents, carers and siblings for all of the support given at home, particularly when you are juggling your own work and lives at the same time. Have a lovely half term and I hope you all manage to have a good rest - I certainly plan to! Miss Radbourne. I've loved seeing everyone's Dress to Express outfits today! What a great end to Children's Mental Health Week. We had children in their favourite colours, their sports kits, dance outfits and even pyjamas. It was really lovely to speak to them in our morning Google Meet and hear them explain their choice of outfit and how it expressed something about themselves or their personality. Thank you to the girls who performed dances live on camera for us this morning - how wonderful that they felt confident enough to share their way of expressing themselves with us. As we look ahead to next week, the final week of this half term, I want to once again say a huge well done to the children. Even if they are getting tired, they continue to try their best with the online learning and I am so proud of them all. Next week, we've got some more fractions in Maths, writing a version of The Impossibly Possibly bookshop in English and there are lots of fun activities in store for the afternoons. I've seen some great artwork this week - designing and creating mandalas. Have a look at some examples in the photos. Enjoy the weekend and see you all next week! Miss Radbourne. |
