Mrs Nuthall and Miss Boyce would like to welcome you to Year 2, Beech Class!
We are having a very unusual summer term; however, it has been lovely to see how hard you are all working. We have thoroughly enjoyed travelling the world with you during our ‘Around the World in 80 Days’ topic. Which continent has been your favourite? Where should we go next?
We will post regular updates on events and home learning on Class Dojo, and will keep you updated with a weekly blog here on our class page!
Please make sure your child has the following in school EVERYDAY:-
Please make sure that you practise spellings everyday. Spellings will be stuck into your child's homework book every Friday for the following week. We test spellings every week at the back of the homework book, so that you can monitor your child's progress.
Please spend 15 minutes hearing your child read every day. Daily practise is essential when learning how to read. Please make a simple note in the reading folder, commenting on unfamiliar words, or any interesting questions and thoughts. We check reading records weekly when your child has their 1:1 reading time.
Once a term your child will be given a selection of project ideas to choose from which relate to our topic. They will be given plenty of time to produce a high quality piece of homework to bring into school and share.
