Welcome to our weekly blog!
I can’t quite believe we are already six days into December! The festivities are slowly starting! This week in English we have begun our new unit based on the book ‘The Hidden Forest’. This is all about a boy exploring the hidden underwater world. On Tuesday we incorporated art into our lesson by creating collages of our own underwater worlds. We have since written our artists blubs about our pieces. In maths, we have finished our unit on fractions by looking at how to find a fraction of an amount for example 2/7 of 35. Next week we will begin our final unit of the term – converting units. On Monday, we finished our geography unit on population by focusing on how we feed the planet and then we created our end of unit page which included everything we have learnt throughout the unit. In science this week, we focused on what global warming is and what the greenhouse effect was. We looked at what is contributing to global warming and what we can do to help stop global warming. Today we have been busy continuing to create our own miniature playgrounds. We have been using the glue guns safely to help create the apparatus for our playground.
