Happy Friday!
Welcome to another weekly blog from Sycamore. This week we have been busy learning about the Windrush in English through our next book Windrush Child. We have been reading the book which is all about a child on their way to England for a new life from Jamaica. Today we wrote some lovely poems about the child's journey on the Arosa Star. We will continue this book next week learning what life was like when the Empire Windrush arrived in England. In maths we have continued with our unit on the four operations. We have been focusing on factors and multiples and prime numbers. Make sure to ask them what the definition of a prime number is! Next week we will be looking at multiplication and division further. This week in our history lesson, we have been exploring the main inventions of the industrial revolution. These included the Spinning Jenny, Water Frame and the Locomotive. We discussed which we thought was the most important invention and most of us chose the Locomotive and railways as this transformed many lives of the working class. Next week we will be researching the impact on the industrial revolution in Devon. In art this afternoon we have been experimenting with charcoal. This has been very fun but slightly messy! Check out our blog next week for the finished pieces! I hope you have a lovely weekend! :) Comments are closed.
