Happy half term! I can't believe we have already had one half term in year 6! The children have worked excellently this half term and have really stepped up to the role of being in year 6.
I am feeling very proud of our class this week. All of the class all stood up in the church yesterday and all said something related to Harvest. Some children talked about what harvest is and who we should thank, others read their own poems they had written about Autumn. All of the class spoke and sang beautifully in the church and should be very proud of themselves! In English this week, we have been busy finishing writing our own persuasive pitches about our Windrush monuments. They have been busy writing these up neatly for a display after half term! After half term we will be starting a new unit based on a new book. In maths this week, we have finished our unit on the four operations. We have looked at mental methods we could use to solve some calculations in our heads. We finished our unit today by completing the end of unit assessment. After half term we will move onto fractions! On Monday, we began our geography unit on population. This involved looking at the worlds population over time and around the world. We looked at which countries are very densely populated and which countries are not. We discovered one of the most densely populated countries was India. We will continue with this after half term. Today we have celebrated TTRS Rockstar day! See below a class photo of all our Rockstar's! We have been busy on TTRS battling each other, other classes and even other schools. We had a lovely morning where some parents came in for some tricky maths problems to solve with their children. After lunch we designed our own avatar for TTRS and we also spent some time in chestnut class playing lots of maths games with our youngest children. I hope you have a lovely half term. See you on Monday 4th November! :) Comments are closed.
