Welcome to the final blog of this half term. It is crazy to think that this half term marks the halfway point through the year. The children have already made excellent progress during year 6 and I am very excited to see the progress they make throughout the second half of their final year at primary school!
This week in English we have been writing our own forma letters to a newspaper persuading them to be on the Wolf’s side of the story and ensure the pigs are the criminals. They have produced some excellent writing! In maths we have finished our unit on fractions, decimals and percentages. Today we have started our new unit on statistics by learning to read and interpret line graphs. We will continue with this after half term. On Monday in our History lesson, we learnt all about Martin Luther King. We watched part of his famous speech – I have a dream and looked at why this is one of the most famous speeches of all time. In science this week we have been looking at thermal insulators and thermal conductors. We explored different materials and sorted them into either an insulator or a conductor. We will finish our unit on heat after half term. This afternoon we have been lucky enough to watch the school talent show. Well done to everyone who took part and auditioned too. You should all be very proud of yourselves. I hope you all have a lovely half term break. I look forward to seeing you back on Monday 24th February. Comments are closed.
