Hello and welcome to this weeks blog!
I can't believe we are already in the summer term! With only 10 school days until SATs. The children have come back with a great learning attitude and have been applying this to our revision sessions. In English we have been planning and writing our own non- chronological report about our own fictional plant like creatures. Next week we will be publishing these and look out for a display of these soon! In maths this week we have been revising different topics and applying these to answer different SATs style questions. In history we have started our new topic on WW1 and WW2. This week we have looked at the different factors that started the first world war. Next lesson we will be learning more about WW1. In science this week we have finished our unit in energy by learning the equation to calculate kinetic energy and next week will be starting our new unit on cells. In PE they have been practicing athletics and rounders which Mr Wood said they were great at! I hope you have a lovely weekend :) Hello and welcome to the final blog the spring term! I can't quite believe that there is only one term left.
This week we have been continuing to read our story of the Boy in the Tower. We have all become very intrigued as to what is going to happen next and we all have our own theories about the 'Bluchers'! As a class we have planned and written a non - chronological report all about the 'bluchers'. After Easter we will be creating our own destructive plants and writing non - chronological reports about them. In maths we have finished our shape unit by looking at nets of 3 d shapes. Today we have sat the end of unit assessment. We have now covered all of the year 6 maths content and after Easter we will be revising lots of different topics in preparation for SATs. We have finished our geography unit on globalisation by thinking about how food is affected by globalisation and what the future might look like. We then weighed up the positives and negatives of globalisation and decided whether it has been a good thing or not. In science we have been investigating how to calculate speed. We will finish this unit after the holidays. I hope you have a lovely Easter break and thank you for your continued support. :) |
